2015 – Desperate Poetry

I took a couple of years off from making these mixes due to a lack of time and a lack of music. That’s not to say that there hasn’t been plenty of music out there, but I found myself without the time to explore as much as I had wanted to. Some songs on this mix were picked a couple of years ago, but without enough songs to justify creating a full CD I just held on to them until the time was right. As such, you may discover that you’ve heard a few of these here and there, but my hope is that most of these songs are new to you.

The marsh sounds bookending this mix were recorded on my deck one early morning this past June.

This band reminds me of a post Waters Pink Floyd, but a little bit better. This song was not what I had originally in mind to open this disc, but it didn’t work anywhere else in the mix. I think it works very well as an opener.

And now for something completely different. Part German, part English, I have no idea what it’s about. This song was originally intended to be the first song in this mix, but it works just as well in the #2 position.
